(4) You can purchase gifts on layaway, so you can pay in installments overtime. (5) You can avoid the Christmas shopping rush and get the gifts you want before stores run out of them. (6) You can go comparison shopping to make sure you’re getting the best prices on Christmas gifts available.

You’ll want to get your Christmas cards out early because they inevitably take more work to prepare and send than you think. It takes time to collect the addresses, write the cards, address and stamp the envelopes and put them in the mail. Remember, always take advantage of bulk Christmas card deals, as you can save the extras for the following year (another option is to buy Christmas cards the week after Christmas when they are extraordinarily inexpensive).
Finally, when the Christmas countdown says that there is only a week until Christmas, you should select the recipes for Christmas dinner and pick up the supplies you’ll need. Lay everything out so you can be sure that you have every last ingredient. If you have to go to the supermarket on Christmas day for a single ingredient, that trip will take you forever. Also, always buy a little more Christmas food than you think you’ll need because inevitably someone will bring a guest you didn’t expect.
